Wolvercote Young People’s Club (WYPC) is a successful and well-established youth charity with 75 years’ experience of providing activities and support to local young people.
What we do best
We provide a safe and fun environment to anyone aged between 7 and 19 years old in Wolvercote, Cutteslowe and Barton. Under the guidance of our qualified and experienced youth workers and trained volunteers, we see young people who use our Club growing in confidence, developing new skills and making great friends.
We have a range of facilities for young people to get involved in including sports, arts and crafts, cooking, music making and lively debates about various issues or we can simply provide a place to chill out. Thanks to support from funders, we run projects throughout the year which can include outings in our minibus. We also ensure everyone has a safe journey home if they need it.
Aside from the socialising, we help young people with CV writing and interview skills, provide training for accredited qualifications such as First Aid and Food Hygiene which aids employment prospects and we provide advice on healthy lifestyles, drug problems, sexual health and relationships. In the last year alone we delivered 4,200 hours of youth work in the local community.
